Despite a sluggish set-up, Godzilla x Kong does what it says on the tin.
A neon rumble in the jungle thats fun while it lasts, but easy to forget when its over.
Just dont expect the humans to match the monsters expressiveness.
Some of those personalities shimmer with a CG iridescence that is at times truly beautiful.
And the humid Australian location work is gorgeous.
As a visual exercise its impressive; as an emotional journey, not so much.
The monsters communicate feelings far better with a shiver of breath or dilating pupil.
