Everything feels like it is reacting in a way that feels believable, but exaggerated.

“I think we did have one employee leave because it was too violent,” Evans laughs.
People felt like it was a good progression.”

This feeling of progression is perhaps what sets Dead Island 2 apart.

So I think that there are arguments for remaking games.
